The quest for the source of a river is not limited to a search for the spring which gives it its origin or the confluence of the stretches which grant it its perennial flow. The source, in a broad sense, constitutes the sum of the formal and informal dimensions which feed it, which seek it and depend on it, and which grant it life beyond the flowing of its waters. The river is (re)born at each season, at each bend, at each meeting, on its journey to the ocean.
The ridges buffeted by fire... the deep meanders full of vegetation and refuge from the summer heat... the idiosyncrasies of the inland summer... the calm of the crystal-clear banks... in a place where rivers are (re)born.

A busca pela nascente de um rio não se limita a uma procura pela fonte que lhe dá origem ou pela junção dos troços que lhe conferem escoamento perene. A nascente, num sentido lato, constitui a soma das dimensões formais e informais que o alimentam, que o procuram, que dele dependem e que lhe conferem vida além do escoamento das suas águas. O rio (re) nasce a cada estação, a cada curva, a cada encontro, nas sua viagem até à foz.
As cumeadas fustigadas pelo fogo... os meandros profundos repletos de vegetação e refúgio do calor estival... as idiossincrasias do veraneio interior... o sossego das margens cristalinas... num lugar onde (re) nascem os rios.
